During my time at Residency Unlimited, I developed a series of drawing and embroidery works that were later presented in two group exhibitions; one on Governors Island and one in the Residency Exhibition Space in Brooklyn. These paper-based works emerged from an intuitive place, a quiet form of journaling where inner states intertwined with my experience of New York City.

In them, drawing and embroidery meet on the same surface line becoming thread, gesture becoming incision. This merging has since become central to my practice, as I continue to explore the tension between care and rupture, and the quiet force of piercing the surface on which I work.
