DANA NECHMAD a young painter, photographer and illustrator living in Florence, Italy, with extensive exposure also to other major centres of art.
Born in Israel, from childhood, has been interested in classical art and dreamt of becoming an acknowledged artist. In pursue of her dream she decided to move to Italy, where she believed she could truly enjoy and experience a cultural life.
Dana has obtained a BA degree from L.A.B.A - Libera Accademia di Belle Arti, Florence. For her graduation Tesi she chose to explore the innovative art of Body Painting which requires joint high skills of painting and photography.
Living and studying in Florence has been a great influence on her work and she decided to study closely and immerse herself in Italy’s great masters. She recently finished a three year course at the Angel Academy of Arts, Florence, under the guidance of the world renowned painter, Michael John Angel. This experience enriched her knowledge of the unique 19th Century methods of drawing and painting.
"I believe that an art work should be a special merge between a solid technique and the artist inspiration or idea, only with a real knowledge one can demonstrate one's emotions through paint and truly connect with the viewer.
I think an art work should have a solid connection between the artist reality and his life experience, which is why I chose the path of representational painting.
I am still on my way, and trying to absorb and learn all I can from the art work and the artists around me, florence is a beautiful city and it is a great pleasure to learn here."
